For the 3rd consecutive year, LifeChamps Project proudly stands among the supporters of “Sail for Pink”. Sail for Pink is the annual awareness campaign of the Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer “Alma Zois” in Thessaloniki, in the framework of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is meant to create awareness of pervasive cancer that affects 1 in 8 women. It’s also meant to encourage folks to take steps to administer self-checks and to check in with their primary care physician and get screened.
Thessaloniki’s Alma Zois is an associate partner of the Greek pilot site, a close collaborator of the AUTH Medical Physics & Digital Innovation Lab LifeChamps Partner, and an active supporter of women who have experienced breast cancer.
While spreading the word of this year’s action “The Hope is you”, LifeChamps Project Coordinator Prof. Panagiotis Bamidis, Scientific Coordinator Dr. Antonis Billis, Project Manager, Giannis Poultourtzidis & project’s Pathologist/Oncologist Dr. Sofia Levva put a spotlight on the conversation around breast health and early detection resulting in important conversations among physicians, cancer patients, health leaders & cancer survivors. These actions support and spread the word about the importance of improving the quality of life of cancer patients while highlighting the overall aims and scopes of Life Champs’s project.
