The International Society of Geriatric Oncology, also called SIOG (Société Internationale d’Oncologie Gériatrique) in French, is a multidisciplinary membership-based society with members engaged in more than 80 countries around the world. The goal of SIOG is to strengthen the capacity of health professionals in the field of geriatric oncology, in order to optimize the treatment of older adults with cancer.

The SIOG 2022 Annual Conference took place this Autumn in Geneva, Switzerland, and was hosted at the prestigious International Conference Centre Geneva (CICG) on October 28-30, 2022.The theme of this year’s conference is “Celebrating Resilience” and the leadership of SIOG, provided its strongest support for the continuation of its policy activities namely, the SIOG Top Priorities Initiative, to enhance the treatment and care of older cancer patients.

After two and a half years of close, but remote, collaboration with the SIOG – International Society of Geriatric Oncology in the framework of the Life Champs advisory board, the Patient Involvement standard, and the launching of the Oncology Focused Living Lab initiative, we participated in the biggest event of the Geriatric Oncology community!  

The LifeChamps project held an exhibition booth where conference participants had the chance to meet the project’s representatives and learn more about its progress while also hosted a Satellite Symposium on “digital health technologies in the support of older cancer survivors.
