In the framework of the first VITALISE H2020 project Summer School, which took place on 6-7 July 2022 in Marathon, Greece, the LifeChamps H2020 Project was invited, along with another two H2020 projects (InAdvance H2020 project and URBANOME H2020), to present how it applies co-creation & Living Lab methodologies in its research, in a special session regarding successful case paradigms of LL methods and tools in EU-funded R&I projects.

The LifeChamps was represented by AUTH partner and specifically by Prof. Panagiotis Bamidis- LifeChamps Project Coordinator, Dr. Antonis Billis – LifeChamps Scientific Coordinator & Despoina Mantziari – PhD Candidate & Research Associate at AUTH iMedPhys. The AUTH team had the opportunity to showcase the project’s framework, analyze LifeChamps’ mission and the overall aim, while highlighting the importance of Stakeholders Engagement and co-creation activities with project’s end-users, as part of the development of the LifeChamps solution.

A special focus was on the Oncology-Focused Living Labs, an initiative, led by LifeChamps partners (AUTH, ECPC) with the support of ENoLL and SIOG, in the framework of the EU Cancer Mission recommendation to use LLs as a vehicle towards the effective digital transformation of the cancer clinical practice & care and the upgrade of research & innovation in the field. 

The VITALISE Summer School 2022 was organized with an aim to support researchers and Living Lab beginners interested in applying the Living Lab methodology and tools in their studies and research.Researchers and Living Lab beginners had the chance to learn more about Open Innovation and Living Lab tools, methods and services, so as to improve their research and follow new scientific paths, with the support and instruction of the highly experienced trainers of the VITALISE project.
