On the occasion of the World Cancer Day (Feb, the 4th), an initiative, led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), LifeChamps H2020 project, committed to its continuous effort to support older cancer survivors and their caregivers, sends its own message, calling attention to the need for prevention, treatment and recovery.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), it has been predicted that in 2040, the number of new cancer diagnoses would be nearly 50% higher than today. Moreover, the International Agency for Research on Cancer by WHO announced that in 2020, 9.9 million new cases of cancer were registered in adults aged ≥65 years; that was 51.6% of the total number of new cancer cases worldwide!

Our mission in LifeChamps is to address the inherent complexity, caused by cancer treatments, act in the monitoring of health status and improve the Quality of Life in cancer patients and provide support and advice to their caregivers and clinicians. We are dedicated to this constant endeavor to improve cancer patients’ lives by using emerging developments in the fields of Big Data, Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence.

We embrace the “World Day Cancer” official awareness moto, “#IAmAndIWill”, envisioning a world with equal access to cancer care for all!
