The LifeChamps 2nd Plenary Meeting took place online on the 2nd & 3rd March 2021 due to the constraints happening by the COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting’s virtual space turned out very fruitful, as the partners had the chance to present the project’s main accomplishments and overall progress.

In the second day of the meeting, International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG) President-Elect and LifeChamps Advisory Board member Dr Nicolò Matteo Luca Battisti gave an interesting keynote speech on Geriatric Oncology, highlighting the importance of the LifeChamps project research work and contribution to this field. He also attended the discussions, regarding piloting, providing his advice on the organization of pilots with end-users and the participation inclusion/exclusion criteria.

A productive discussion took place among all the participants focusing on the critical issues the project currently undertakes due to the COVID-19 situation. The partners shared and exchanged ideas on mitigation ways to overcome the problems. This is an important milestone for the LifeChamps consortium because the project is inextricably linked with cancer patients, who are among the most vulnerable populations to be approached in the current period.

Still, much is expected to come up as a result of the hard work of our team. Our main aim is to gain valuable insights from the R&D perspectives and improve the quality of life of cancer patients in a significant manner.
