The 1st LifeChamps H2020 Project Communication Event with stakeholders, co-hosted by EXALENS and AUTH partners, took place on the 14th June 2022, in Thessaloniki, Greece.
The aim of the event was to inform the local stakeholder community -both experts & cancer patients on the latest developments of the project. Thus, the event was split in two parts:the first session, was held in English, and it was more technical, regarding project’s technological solutions. AUTH, SALUMEDIA and UPV partners presented the latest updates of the mobile app for the patients and clinicians’ dashboard to representatives from the academia and industry.
The second half of the event, was held in Greek with the active participation of Greek patient associations, older cancer patients & their caregivers. Specifically, in a joint session, AUTH, APC and UoGintroduced the LifeChamps’ Real-life Pilots in Clinical and Home Environment. Moreover, Ms Kathi Apostolidis, President of the ECPC and president of the Hellenic Cancer Federation – ELLOK, gave a keynote speech on the importance of patient engagement in clinical trials and moderated a Round Table discussion on the same topic, with the active participation of clinicians from Gennimatas & Papageorgiou Hospitals and patient association representatives from ELLOK and Alma Zois Thessaloniki – Women with Breast Cancer Association, also with the support of ECPC partner.
After the closing remarks, an interactive Session was performed by AUTH technical team, showcasing the monitoring devices and collecting patients’ feedback on the improvement of the LifeChamps mobile app in view of the pre-piloting period.
