We’re thrilled to announce that LifeChamps has been granted a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the field of healthcare. Thanks to the Digital Health Uptake (DHU) program, our “Twinning for Elderly Cancer Survivors” (TERCS) initiative has been selected for funding!

TERCS, short for “Twinning for Elderly Cancer Survivors” is a twinning initiative that draws from the rich knowledge and experience gained during the development of the LifeChamps project. TERCS is based on the pioneering nature of LifeChamps’ digital biomarker approach and the opportunity to equip the adopter, Oncology Institute “Prof. Dr. Ion Chiricuta”, Cluj-Napoca (IOCN), with digital tools and technologies that require no digital fluency, though contribute highly to patient monitoring. LifeChamps offers a transformative opportunity for the daily monitoring of elderly cancer patients and survivors, a demographic that has often been underserved in terms of personalized care. By collaborating on this twinning initiative, the adopter can leverage the innovative digital biomarkers developed in LifeChamps to revolutionize the assessment of Quality of Life (QOL) in various patient case scenarios.

The concept of the twinning project is to empower the Romanian healthcare center (IOCN) with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to manage frailty in patients. Frailty is a critical healthcare concern, especially in an aging population, and the project aims to enhance the healthcare center’s ability to provide better care and support to frail individuals through ICT solutions. TERCS is poised to yield a wide array of anticipated outcomes and benefits for Romanian citizens, patients, and their caregivers. These benefits extend beyond the immediate clinical setting and hold the potential to positively impact healthcare quality, long-term care, and patient empowerment.
