On the 16th of July 2020, the LifeChamps project coordinator, AUTH partner, held the 1st virtual workshop with doctors on scenario thinking, regarding end-user requirements for the LifeChamps platform. More specifically, in a 2-hour online session, AUTH research team introduced the project and its main objectives to oncologists members of the Hellenic Society of Medical Oncology (HeSMO) , asking them to participate in an open discussion on some pre-selected use-case scenarios for the exploitation of the LifeChamps system by older adult cancer patients, who have received treatment and/or they have been under medical monitoring and healthcare professionals who take care of them during their post-treatment treatment period. The main focus of the workshop was oncologists to validate the proposed scenarios and generate additional ones, if needed, to maximize the potential value of the LifeChamps system for end-users, primarily older adult cancer patients and their caregivers, and to respond to as many as possible needs. Additionally, doctors discussed how they could get immediate knowledge of these needs to improve the healthcare of their patients. Salumedia technical partner Santiago Hors-Fraile made a demo presentation of potential mHealth solution for the self-0management of cancer patients and their caregivers.

The workshop was well-organised and all participants had the opportunity to express their views on the raised questions and the provided scenarios, contributing to LifeChamps’ researchers attempts to further explore, revise and improve the system design and future implementation. The AUTH project team wants to express its warm acknowledgements to all participants for their active involvement and their useful feedback during the process.
